American guitarist and singer-songwriter Robert Johnson was born in 1911 and died aged only 27. He wrote exactly 29 songs which were not widely popular in his lifetime. His fame erupted only after his death. Today he is known as the king of the blues singing and guitar playing.
Robert Johnson's work strongly influenced American 20th century popular music. His style echoes in the songs of Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, or Jimi Hendrix. Not much is known about Johnson's life and death, which gave rise to many legends and speculations.
