8 May 2017 saw the Dance and Ballet Section of the Polish Performing Artists Union (ZASP) led by Barbara Sier-Janik celebrating the International Dance Day. Among the representatives of the dance community presented with awards and distinctions were artists of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. Former first soloist of the Warsaw ballet company and ballet mistress of the Polish National Ballet Anita Kuskowska as well as the PNB’s first soloist Dagmara Dryl received their Bronze Gloria Artis Medals for Merit to Culture. A special commemorative medal for artistic accomplishments was handed to our first soloist Dawid Trzensimiech, who returned to Poland and joined the ranks of the Polish National Ballet after a spending some time abroad, including six years with the Royal Ballet in London.
