Born into a family with long-established theatre traditions, Mieczysława Ćwiklińska, aka Ćwikła, was one of the most characteristic figures in Polish theatre and film. Although she began her career in music theatre and dreamt of becoming a singer, she is now mainly remembreed as as a comedy acress working in fil and theatre.
The exhibition presents photographs and memorabilia held by the Theatre Institute in Warsaw and the Polish National Opera's Theatre Museum. These inckude costumes from the post-war productions the actress starred in and her private outfits and possessions, along with three portraits by Zygmunt Grabowski, Włodzimierz Bartoszewicz, and Irena Łuczyńska-Szymanowska.
