Play it for me... Gustaw Holoubek in memoriam

Marking the 94th birthday of Gustaw Holoubek, we are holding the annual artistic evening devoted to the memory of the great actor and one of the most influential and revered figures in Polish post-war culture, wishing to celebrate his life trough the things he loved, cherished, and devoted most of his life to: word and music.

On 20 April 2017 we will present his legendary rendition of Adam Mickiewicz’s Great Improvisation as featured in Tadeusz Konwicki’s film A Tale of Adam Mickiewicz’s 'Forefatheres' Eve'. Adding to the timeless beauty of the acting, the evening will feature Fryderyk Chopin’s narrative, highly dramatic master pieces: his first two Ballades, Scherzo in B-flat minor and Polonaise Fantasy, all performed by world-renowned pianist Krzysztof Jabłoński, prize winner of many international piano competitions, including the Chopin competition in Warsaw.
