Artur Ruciński
Concert
The eponymous Yevgény Onégin, Prince Yeletsky in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades or Janusz in Moniuszko’s Halka. These are just some of the characteristic roles for which Artur Ruciński became famous in Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. He has since appeared at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, at London’s Royal Opera House and at Milan’s La Scala and he is counted amongst the best opera singers in the world. Always composed and serious, he gives the impression of a distinguished person incredibly resilient to stress – also in the case of sudden 'jump-ins', like when he had to unexpectedly replace Plácido Domingo in the role of Count di Luna in Verdi’s Il trovatore. He performed the role with great success – the critics dubbed him 'a natural born Verdi baritone'. It is said that with each new role he wins the audience’s favour, all his successes are heralded as great and all his debuts – as brilliant. A sure-fire singer. He began his career in Warsaw and now he returns for a special concert at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera.
