Przemysław Zych / Robert Bondara
Ballet in two acts
Libretto: Robert Bondara
Music: Przemysław Zych
World premiere: 10 May 2026, Polish National Ballet
Robert Bondara’s piece is a tale of the world of the future tapping into the neo-noir aesthetics as well as a journey into the world of archetypes, since it alludes to the perennial human fantasy of creating artificial life exemplified by golem and Frankenstein. The ballet inspires reflection on such relevant questions as what it means to be human in the age of artificial intelligence, what divides the natural and the artificial, and the human and the inhuman.
The ballet is set to a score written by Przemysław Zych, a composer, educator affiliated with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, an artist with numerous stage projects to his name, co-creator of multimedia productions, author of the chamber opera Poiesis based on Zbigniew Herbert’s drama and the ballet Alice in Wonderland.
