The year 2019 sees the bicentenary of the birth of Stanisław Moniuszko, prominent composer, conductor, organist, teacher, director of the Teatr Wielki, Warsaw, and creator of Polish national opera. To mark the jubilee, the Polish Parliament named 2019 the Year of Stanisław Moniuszko.  

The celebrations will be led by Waldemar Dąbrowski, director of the Teatr Wielki. The bicentenary programme will be coordinated by the Office for the Bicentenary of Stanisław Moniuszko.  

Soon a dedicated website (www.moniuszko200.pl) will be launched to bring you event listings, a Moniuszko encyclopedia, and educational resources.
