Dovlet Nurgeldiyev began his vocal studies in his native country Turkmenistan and continued his studies in the Netherlands at the Conservatory in Tilburg before being awarded his batchelor's and master's degrees at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Future engagements include Lensky/Onegin at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in January 2017 and Stabat Mater at the Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier.
Recent engagements include two concerts (various arias by Mozart) in Kilden Kristiansand and in Arendal in November 2015. In Hamburg he will perform Alfred/Die Fledermaus, Tamino/Die Zauberflöte (new production), Naraboth/Salome, Mcduff/Macbeth and Edgardo/Lucia di Lammermoor. In November 2013 he made a very successful debut as Belfiore in Mozart's La finta giardiniera at Staatsoper Berlin, directed by Hans Neuenfels. In December 2013 followed an impressive debut in Bordeaux, performing Mozart’s Requiem. In January 2014 Dovlet Nurgeldiyev made strong guest appearances as Lensky in a new production of Eugene Onegin in Montpellier. Back in Hamburg he performed the role of Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore. He was very convincing in further debuts at the Hamburg State Opera in March and June 2014 as Ferrando in Mozart's Cosí fan tutte and as Kudrjasch in Janacek's Katya Kabanova. Since 2010 Dovlet has been a member of the Hamburg State Opera company with highly acclaimed roles as Alfredo in La Traviata, Lensky in Eugene Onegin, Don Ottavio in a new production of Don Giovanni, Nemorino in L’Elisir d’Amore, Ferrando in Cosí fan tutte, Kudrjasch in Katya Kabanova and Vladimir Igorevich in Prince Igor. In November 2009 the tenor was awarded one of the top prizes at the Stella Maris Competition – a recording with Deutsche Grammophon. In September 2008 he joined the International Opera Studio at Hamburg State Opera, where he made his highly acclaimed European debut as Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaff.
