On the night of 15 May, the Teatr Wielki will open its doors to those participating in the annual festival. We have two exhibitions in store for them. The show presented at the Opera Gallery explores the work of Jan Cybis, a colourist painter who had never used a dark shade, conjured up inspiring experiments with texture and form on canvas, and invites his viewers to savour the many colours of life. Mounted by the Theatre Museum in association with the Kulturo Foundation, the exhibition Tango: Opera, Theatre, Cabaret showcases the illustrious history of the tango in Poland against the cultural background of interwar Warsaw.

You may also head to moniuszko200.pl to take the Moniuszko Warsaw Walking Tour and see the city through the composer’s eyes. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the places connected with him in Warsaw. The tour starts at Collegium Nobilium, where Moniuszko's school used to be located, and ends in the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, which stands on a street named after the composer. The Moniuszko Tour is a also a great idea for a weekend outing in the city.
Our website also offers a Virtual Tour of the Teatr Wielki presenting the fascinating story of the opera house. While at it, you may also explore Gallery Opera exhibitions in 3D.
