From 21 to 25 May the Teatr Wielki will host a series of Chopin recitals by talented Polish pianists of the young generation. The opera house's Fryderyk Chopin Redutowe Rooms will welcome artists who have qualified for the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition taking place in October 2021, after it was rescheduled last year.
The concert series is an opportunity to get to know the emerging artists of the Polish piano scene – all the more valuable considering the approaching Chopin Competition, the greatest event in the world of piano music.
It will be both interesting and beautiful: Piotr Pawlak, Adam Kałduński, Kamil Pacholec, Piotr Alexewicz, and Szymon Nehring have already made their names as excellent performers.

The Love Waltzes of Brahms: An Opera Academy concert
You can talk about love in different ways … at times seriously and at times with humour. Love can have many faces: sometimes it brings joy and othertimes suffering. Johannes Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes encompass it all. The extraordinary collection unusually scored for four soloists and piano four hands will transport you to Viennese salons boasting a rich tradition of joint music making. Cheerful and charming, they are sure to lift your spirits in the difficult times we have found ourselves in.
The concert is performed by members of the Opera Academy of the Polish National Opera: Inna Fedorii, Justyna Ołów, Adrian Domarecki with a guest appearance by Artur Janda. They are accompanied on piano four-hands by Alina Shevchenko, also a member of the programme, and Lech Napierała, prominent chamber pianist.

Box Office opening hours and Covid-19 safety information
As of 21 May the box offices in the main lobby will reopen, while the Boutique in the left wing of the opera house will stay open longer, until 7 p.m.

100% fresh, filtered airform the outdoors is delivered non-stop to the auditorium, foyer and front of house spaces. The cleanliness of the filters is monitored continually. Seating is limited to 50% capacity and arranged in a chequerboard-like pattern, leaving every other seat in the auditorium empty. Empty seats are secured with special tape.
Every audience member who enters the opera house must submit their health declaration. Holders of opera, ballet and concert tickets may submit their health declarations online not earlier than 48 hours before the curtain-up. You may also complete the health declaration form in hardcopy and return it to one of the drop boxes set up by the ticket check. Audience members attending educational events, workshops, or exhibitions must complete their health declarations in hardcopy and return them to one of the drop boxes set up by the ticket check.
The front of house is disinfected frequently. All door handles and handrails are regularly cleaned with antiviral agents.
A PPE vending machine selling single and multiple use masks, gloves and disinfectant has been placed in the Box Office lobby. Apart from standard hygiene products, all toilets for the visitors are fitted with elbow-press hand sanitiser dispensers.
